Garmin Vector 3 battery
2 × 1.55V silver oxide button cell
Garmin Vector 3/3S: each pedal may use two LR44 or SR44, or one CR1/3N / 2L76. SR44 may perform better in cold. Do not mix types; replace both pedals together.
How to replace it
| How to open | Use a 4 mm hex key to remove the battery cover, wait 5–10 seconds, insert new cells observing polarity, hand-tighten then gently torque — do not lose the O-ring. |
|---|---|
| Orientation | As marked in the pedal battery cover |
| Re-pair after change | Yes |
| Access | Precision tool |
| Notes | Quantity is per pedal (2× SR44/LR44 or 1× CR1/3N). This page highlights the SR44 path Garmin names for cold performance. |
Important
- OEM dual-lists LR44 or SR44 (2 per pedal) and a single 3V CR1/3N path — do not mix chemistries.
- Prefer matching the chemistry already installed; SR44 is silver oxide (flatter curve).
- Keep button cells away from children.

New battery but still not working?
A fresh 2 × SR44 should restore Garmin Vector 3 / Vector 3S if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.
- Check orientation
Confirm the cell is seated correctly: As marked in the pedal battery cover
- Check the battery type
This device needs 2 × SR44 (silver_oxide). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.
- Check known model-specific issues
Re-pairing or a short reset may be required after a battery change. OEM dual-lists LR44 or SR44 (2 per pedal) and a single 3V CR1/3N path — do not mix chemistries. Prefer matching the chemistry already installed; SR44 is silver oxide (flatter curve). Keep button cells away from children.
- Confirm the battery itself
For most coin cells, fitting a known-good fresh cell of the correct code is simpler than capacity testing.
- Still not responding?
If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.
Replacing the device?
Garmin Vector 3 / Vector 3S is still sold new. Only consider a replacement if the checks above did not help.
