Mitutoyo ABS Digimatic Caliper battery
1 × 1.55V silver oxide button cell
Mitutoyo’s Digimatic user manual requires SR44 silver oxide (part 938882). Install with (+) facing up, then reset ORIGIN. Do not substitute LR44 alkaline for long-term accuracy.

New battery but still not working?
A fresh 1 × SR44 should restore Mitutoyo ABS Digimatic Caliper (SR44) if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.
- Check orientation
Confirm the cell is seated correctly: Positive (+) side facing upward
- Check the battery type
This device needs 1 × SR44 (silver_oxide). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.
- Check known model-specific issues
OEM requires SR44 silver oxide — do not substitute LR44 / AG13 alkaline for accurate long-term use. Button cells are a swallowing hazard — keep away from children.
- Confirm the battery itself
For most coin cells, fitting a known-good fresh cell of the correct code is simpler than capacity testing.
- Still not responding?
If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.
