Sources & evidence
We reference standards bodies, safety authorities, and industry associations as context — we do not claim membership or credentials we do not have.
Evidence model
BatteryByDevice separates battery facts from device compatibility claims. Discovery sources help us find what to investigate; proof sources decide what we publish.
Proof for device compatibility
OEM owner’s manuals, manufacturer support pages, and official product documentation.
These are the primary basis for “this device uses this battery” claims on device pages.
Support for battery facts
Manufacturer datasheets, IEC / national standards references, and reputable technical chemistry summaries.
Used for size families, chemistry letters, voltage classes, and typical capacity / shelf-life ranges — labelled as typical when brands vary.
Discovery only (not final proof)
Retailer catalogue pages — useful for aliases, pack formats, and availability hints.
Competitor lookup sites — idea and coverage seeds only.
Forums and marketplace snippets — weak discovery seeds; never enough alone to publish a device answer.
