Button & coin battery safety

Small lithium and alkaline button/coin cells can cause severe injury if swallowed. Keep spare cells secured and follow the product’s own safety labelling.

Practical rules

Keep loose button and coin cells away from children. Store spares in original packaging or a closed container — not in a drawer with coins or toys.

If a button or coin cell is swallowed or inserted into the body, seek emergency medical care immediately. Do not wait for symptoms.

Match the exact code the device names. Same diameter does not mean the same thickness or chemistry — and wrong chemistry (for example rechargeable LIR in a primary CR tray) can create additional hazards.
