Battery
CR2430
3V lithium coin cell
KCR2430 is a pack label for CR2430 — same battery, different name on the package.
Common questions
- What is a CR2430 battery?
- CR2430 is a 3-volt lithium coin cell about 24.5 mm across and 3.0 mm thick (ANSI 5011LC; packs may say DL2430 / ECR2430). Polar’s s3+ stride sensor names CR2430. Same diameter class as CR2450 and CR2477 but thinner — see CR2450 vs CR2430 vs CR2477. BR2430 is a different lithium subclass — not a pack label for CR2430. Not a drop-in for CR2450 or for smaller CR2032 trays.
- What do the letters in CR2430 mean?
- Under the IEC naming system, C is the assigned code for lithium–manganese dioxide — not taken from the spelling of those chemicals — and R means round (coin or button). The numbers encode size. Same diameter with a different first letter is a different battery. Full guide: CR vs LR vs SR.
- What is CR2430 also called?
- CR2430 pack labels and aliases on this site include DL2430, ECR2430, 5011LC, KCR2430, KECR2430, 2430, GPCR2430. These are names for the same battery entity — not chemistry substitutes.
- Is CR2430 interchangeable with similar codes?
- Related codes are not automatic equivalents. See CR2450 vs CR2430 vs CR2477 — match the code your device names.
- What devices use a CR2430?
- Examples on this site: Polar s3+ Stride Sensor. Always confirm on the device page.

Rechargeable coin cells (LIR, ML, VL, CTL and similar) are not drop-in replacements for disposable CR cells — voltage and charging requirements differ. Same size does not mean the same battery.

Device-specific caveats
- Keep coin cells away from children.
- Sensor must be taught/paired to the Polar training computer after battery work if previously unpaired.
