Ring Video Doorbell 2 battery
Rechargeable pack
Removable manufacturer pack — charge or swap; not AA/AAA/coin cells
Ring Video Doorbell 2 uses a removable Quick Release Battery Pack (rechargeable lithium-ion) — not AA, AAA or coin cells. Remove the security screws and faceplate, press the metal tab, slide the pack out, charge until only the green light remains, then click it back in. Buy a genuine Ring spare pack if you need zero downtime.
How to replace it
| How to open | Remove the security screws on the bottom with the Ring security screwdriver. Press the sides of the faceplate and pull it off. Press the metal release tab and slide the Quick Release Battery Pack out. Charge the pack via its USB/USB-C port until only the green light remains (green + amber while charging). Slide the pack back until it clicks, refit the faceplate, and reinsert the security screws. Wait up to 60 seconds for power-on. |

Important
- Not a disposable AA/AAA/coin-cell design — buy or charge a Ring Quick Release pack.
- Quick Release Ultra Battery Pack is only for listed newer 2K/4K models — check Ring’s Device Compatibility List before buying Ultra.
- Hardwiring or solar can trickle-charge compatible battery doorbells; that does not change the pack type.
