  • Related Nikon AF compact bodies (e.g. AF3 One-Touch) also name CR-P2 / DL223A — verify the body before buying.

Optional tools for opening, testing or charging — separate from the battery answer.

  • Digital multimeter

Measure open-circuit voltage and general electronics checks

Voltage alone does not establish usable capacity, especially for rechargeables.

New battery but still not working?

A fresh 1 × CRP2 should restore Nikon N6000 if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.

  1. Check orientation

Confirm the cell is seated correctly: As marked on the inside of the battery chamber cover

  2. Check the battery type

This device needs 1 × CRP2 (lithium). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.

  3. Check known model-specific issues

    CRP2 / CR-P2 / DL223A is a 6V photo pack — not CR2 (3V) and not 2CR5. Related Nikon AF compact bodies (e.g. AF3 One-Touch) also name CR-P2 / DL223A — verify the body before buying. Keep lithium packs away from children.

  4. Confirm the battery itself

Try a known-good fresh cell of the exact code listed above.

  5. Still not responding?

If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.

These checks follow this device’s orientation, battery type, and important notes from the maker.
