Garmin vívofit 4 battery

2 × 1.55V silver oxide button cell

Garmin vívofit 4 / vivofit 4 takes two SR43 silver-oxide cells — Garmin lists 301 and 386 as the same family. This is not the CR1632 used in vívofit 3. Remove the band, undo the four front screws, replace both cells, and align the marks when refitting.

New battery but still not working?

A fresh 2 × SR43 should restore Garmin vívofit 4 if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.

  1. Check orientation

Confirm the cell is seated correctly: Negative side facing the inside of the front cover

  2. Check the battery type

This device needs 2 × SR43 (silver_oxide). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.

  3. Check known model-specific issues

Gasket tabs must align with notches in battery case; damaged gasket may not seal Garmin states 301 and 386 batteries are equivalent to SR43.

  4. Confirm the battery itself

For most coin cells, fitting a known-good fresh cell of the correct code is simpler than capacity testing.

  5. Still not responding?

If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.

These checks follow this device’s orientation, battery type, and important notes from the maker.
