Bose soundbar remote batteries
Bose remotes are not one battery. Some Smart Soundbar and TV Speaker remotes use a CR2032 coin cell; Smart Soundbar 900 and SoundTouch 300 use 2× AAA; Soundbar 700’s universal remote uses 4× AA. Identify your soundbar / remote generation below — do not buy from a generic “Bose remote battery” ad.
Which generation do you have?
| Generation / model | Battery | Replaceable? | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bose Smart Soundbar remote (coin cell) | 1 × CR2032 | Yes | Owner’s guide for the later Smart Soundbar remote: CR2032/DL2032 coin cell. Not 2× AAA. |
| Bose TV Speaker remote | 1 × CR2032 | Yes | Bose support: CR2032/DL2032 with + facing out. Different product from Smart Soundbar 900. |
| Smart Soundbar 900 remote | 2 × AAA | Yes | Bose Smart Soundbar 900 owner’s guide: two AAA (IEC-LR3) alkaline. Bose advises against rechargeable cells. |
| SoundTouch 300 soundbar remote | 2 × AAA | Yes | SoundTouch 300 universal remote — two AAA alkaline per the owner’s guide. |
| Soundbar 700 universal remote | 4 × AA | Yes | Four AA alkaline — not AAA and not a coin cell. Bose advises against rechargeable batteries in this remote. |
| Unsure which Bose remote you have | Identify first — no cell yet | No | Check the soundbar model on the bar or app, then the remote tray. CR2032 vs 2× AAA vs 4× AA are all real Bose designs. |

Still not working?
Only after the correct cells are fitted: Bose documents pairing / range steps per soundbar. If the remote is still dead, order a Bose replacement remote for that soundbar — battery type first, replacement remote second.
