1 × 1.5V alkaline button cell

| How to open | Loosen the battery-cover screw with a Phillips screwdriver, remove the cover, swap the LR41, reseat and secure the cover. |
|---|---|
| Orientation | Rounded negative side facing up as shown in the Safety 1st illustration |
| Access | Simple screwdriver |
| Notes | Confirm the model number on your unit (TH063 / TH064 / TH075 family per Safety 1st care sheet). |
Important
- OEM names LR41 alkaline — do not assume SR41 silver oxide unless your exact model sheet says so (other Safety 1st SKUs differ).
- Medical thermometer — keep button cells away from children.
- This is not clinical advice.

New battery but still not working?
A fresh 1 × LR41 should restore Safety 1st TH063 (and related Basics thermometer) if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.
- Check orientation
Confirm the cell is seated correctly: Rounded negative side facing up as shown in the Safety 1st illustration
- Check the battery type
This device needs 1 × LR41 (alkaline). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.
- Check known model-specific issues
OEM names LR41 alkaline — do not assume SR41 silver oxide unless your exact model sheet says so (other Safety 1st SKUs differ). Medical thermometer — keep button cells away from children. This is not clinical advice.
- Confirm the battery itself
For most coin cells, fitting a known-good fresh cell of the correct code is simpler than capacity testing.
- Still not responding?
If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.
