Important

  • SwissCard Lite uses CR1025, not CR1225 — do not conflate Lite SKUs.
  • Some Classic SAK LED covers use CR1025 or SR1130W — verify the Victorinox sheet for your exact tool.
  • Keep coin cells away from children.

Helpful for this device

Optional tools for opening, testing or charging — separate from the battery answer.

  • Digital multimeter

Measure open-circuit voltage and general electronics checks

Voltage alone does not establish usable capacity, especially for rechargeables.

New battery but still not working?

A fresh 2 × CR1225 should restore Victorinox Spartan Lite if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.

  1. Check orientation

Confirm the cell is seated correctly: As indicated by the markings on the housing

  2. Check the battery type

This device needs 2 × CR1225 (lithium). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.

  3. Check known model-specific issues

SwissCard Lite uses CR1025, not CR1225 — do not conflate Lite SKUs. Some Classic SAK LED covers use CR1025 or SR1130W — verify the Victorinox sheet for your exact tool. Keep coin cells away from children.

  4. Confirm the battery itself

For most coin cells, fitting a known-good fresh cell of the correct code is simpler than capacity testing.

  5. Still not responding?

If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.

Replacing the device?

Victorinox Spartan Lite is still sold new. Only consider a replacement if the checks above did not help.
