Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 battery
2 × 1.5V alkaline cell
The Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 takes two AA alkaline batteries (LR6). Fujifilm does not allow manganese cells. This is not a Polaroid 600 / SX-70 film-pack battery — AA cells power the camera; Instax Mini film is separate.
How to replace it
| Compartment | Battery compartment in the camera body (often behind a cover near the film door — confirm on your unit) |
|---|---|
| How to open | Open the battery cover; insert two AA alkaline cells matching polarity. Close firmly before loading film. |
| Orientation | Follow polarity marks |
| Low battery indicator | Camera may refuse to eject / flash when batteries are weak |
| Notes | Uses Instax Mini film packs (separate from the AA cells). Do not confuse battery door with film door. |
| Access | Tool-free |
Important
- Takes 2× AA alkaline (LR6) only per Fujifilm — manganese cells are not allowed.
- This is not a Polaroid 600 / SX-70 film-pack battery (Type E). The AA cells power the camera; film is separate.
- Confirm other Instax Mini variants on their own Fujifilm specs before assuming the same cell count.
- Keep AA cells and film packs dry; follow Fuji disposal guidance for used packs.

New battery but still not working?
A fresh 2 × AA should restore Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 if the battery was the problem. Work through the checks below before replacing the device.
- Check orientation
Confirm the cell is seated correctly: Follow polarity marks
- Check the battery type
This device needs 2 × AA (alkaline). Rechargeable cells are not supported for this device. Same size does not always mean the same battery.
- Check known model-specific issues

- Confirm the battery itself
If you have a battery tester or multimeter, check the cell. A low open-circuit voltage often means replace; for rechargeable AA/AAA, a capacity test is more informative than voltage alone.
- Still not responding?
If a correct, fresh battery installed properly does not restore the device, the fault may be elsewhere — the device may need service or replacement.
